Retail stores and catalog
companies periodically have surplus, closeout or excess inventory (overstocks)
that they have to move or liquidate. For example, at the end of the Winter
season, dept. stores must change over their shelves from Winter apparel to
Spring/Summer apparel. Therefore, they pull all of the winter apparel and
replace it with their new line of Spring/Summer apparel. What
happens to all those Winter 'Shelf Pulls'? It is liquidated and
wholesalers like us purchase it by the truck load. Similarly with the
catalog companies, they may have broken stock or changing seasons and therefore
must discontinue certain items from their next catalog. The left over
inventory is liquidated to wholesalers like us.
Since we are selling dept.
store surplus inventory - it is typically all brand new since it came right off
of the shelves. However, you can come across a piece of clothing that got
lightly soiled due to excess warehouse handling or an item that someone tried on
in a dressing room and got some make-up on it or may have snagged a sweater.
Overall these lots are very clean and very nice. But please be aware there
may be a few imperfections. Also, since these are shelf pulls, they
typically all have the original retail tags but will have marked down prices
since it was probably marked down several times for end of season clearance.
Overstock from catalog
companies is typically all individually bagged so it is always new in the
package. These items do not have retail tags since it is catalog sales
ready. Occasionally packages have been opened or the item may no longer be
bagged. For the most part catalog overstock is individually poly-bagged.
What are 'Customer
Returns'?
Dept. stores and catalog
companies deal with large quantities of 'Customer Returns'. In many cases,
a customer will return an item to the dept. store or catalog company because the
item did not fit or they changed their mind when they got home. So they
return it to the store or catalog company in perfect condition with
tags etc. still intact. However, there are cases where a customer will use
an item, wash it, damage etc. and still return it to the store to get a refund.
The dept. stores and catalog companies cannot take the customer return items and
put it back on their shelves. So what do they do with all the returned
goods? Sometimes, they mix them in with their overstock shelf pulls and
sometimes they liquidate it off separately to wholesalers that deal strictly in
customer return lots. If any of our lots contain a percentage of customer
returns, we will indicate that in our product description. Beware of
wholesale companies that are not honest because you could end up with an entire
batch of apparel that is customer returns and could all be damaged. Make
sure you understand what you are buying. We have heard the horror stories.
In general we do not deal in Customer Return lots.
Buying Assorted Lots -
How do I know what I'm getting?
Many of the dept. store and
catalog company overstocks that we resell are mixed assorted lots. These
lots have great value but they are just as they are described -
"Mixed Assorted Lots". This means that you can get anything and
everything that the dept. stores pulled from their shelves. This could be
pants, tops, tees, accessories, underwear, bras, lingerie, shorts, skirts,
sweats, tees, sets, broken sets, ties, belts, shoes, hats and on and on. If you
are looking for specific items such as only pants or specific types of pants or
specific sizes - these mixed assorted lots are not for you. You must be
flexible and be able to take anything and everything. These lots have
great value for discount stores that sell anything and everything. If you
are a boutique, and sell specific types of items, the mixed assorted lots should
not be your first choice and we may not be the right wholesaler to meet your
needs.
Assorted lots can also contain
apparel that crossed over season. Often time, you will notice that our
lots are described as 'Mixed Season'. This means that some items will
probably be Spring/Summer and some items will be Fall/Winter. We do our
best to describe what season or mix of seasons a particular lot will be but
although we try to give you the best description sometimes we don't get it exactly
right. You have to be open minded and flexible to be successful. It
is possible that you could receive all Spring/Summer in a mixed season lot or
vice versa. You have to be open minded when buying mixed assorted lots.
It's the nature of the surplus market.
Do we own all our
inventory?
YES - we absolutely own and
warehouse all the apparel inventory that you find on our website. Beware
of brokers and middle men who claim that they are selling you inventory that
they own. There are many brokers and middle-men who have flashy websites
and make all kinds of claims about what they are selling you. You end up
paying layers of middle-men markups which dwindles your profit making potential.
Also, since they do not own the inventory, how can you be guaranteed that you
will receive your merchandise or the items are accurately represented?
When you purchase from us, you
have eliminated the middle man and you can be guaranteed that you will receive
your merchandise. It's a better deal all around - so beware of false
claims, brokers and middle man schemes.

attempt to work with you and correct the problem going forward. Since we sell
merchandise to our customers at a deep discount and offer great deals, we cannot
